Fifteenth Avenue invites faith leaders, congregations, families, and community members to take meaningful action by joining educational sessions, contacting legislators, signing petitions, participating in advocacy efforts, and showing up in solidarity. Together, our voices can make an impact.

Governor Bill Lee has called the Tennessee General Assembly back for a Special Legislative Session on Tuesday, May 5th, to consider redrawing the congressional district maps. This could potentially cause Shelby County and parts of West Tennessee to further lose representation. After the recent gutting of Section 2 of the Voting Rights Act of 1964, several states across the South, including Tennessee, have called special legislative sessions or even suspended current elections to redraw their district maps. Due to this grotesque miscarriage of justice in our nation’s history, it is our duty to show up to Protect the South.

Here are ways to get involved:
