Volunteer Receptionist
About the Role
Purpose of the Role
The Volunteer Receptionist serves as the first point of contact for members, guests, and community visitors. This position plays a vital role in creating a warm and welcoming environment. The receptionist supports the church’s mission by providing friendly assistance, managing front desk communication, and helping with light administrative tasks.
Key Responsibilities:
• Warmly greet and welcome members, guests, and visitors entering the church office.
• Be able to make outgoing calls
• Answer incoming calls and direct them to the appropriate ministry or staff member.
• Take accurate messages and ensure they are delivered promptly.
• Provide general information about church services, ministries, and events.
• Maintain an inviting and organized reception area.
• Manage visitor sign-in procedures and ensure a sense of safety and hospitality.
• Maintain confidentiality and demonstrate professionalism in all interactions.
•Monitor the security screens (coming soon!)
Qualifications:
• A welcoming and compassionate spirit.
• Able to take acute accountability
• Friendly and professional communication skills, both in person and by phone.
• Dependable, punctual, and willing to serve scheduled shifts.
• Comfortable with basic office equipment (phones, copier, computer).
• Able to maintain confidentiality and uphold church values.
• Teachable and willing to follow office and ministry procedures.
• Adhere to the Fifteenth Handbook and be able to change based on procedural updates
• Business Casual Attire, Black Attire for Funerals
