Facilities Manager/Custodian

The primary mission and role of the Facilities Manager/Custodian is to:

● maintain the church facilities in a clean and orderly manner to ensure they are ready for planned church activities and events.

● Support the ministry of Fifteenth Avenue Baptist Church.

Duties

Primary responsibilities: include but are not limited to:

Anticipating Facility Needs in advance

Maintaining a cleaning schedule for the entire campus of Fifteenth Avenue, inside and out. Some tasks are required on a daily, weekly, monthly, and event basis.

Characteristics, Skills, Abilities, & Knowledge:

Proficient in facility maintenance

Strong technical background, leadership and communication skills.

Manages details, tasks, and projects efficiently without frequent follow-up or reminders.

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.

Ability to use time effectively and determine "must do" priorities when necessary.

Ability to anticipate or avoid problems and devise creative solutions.

Makes timely decisions that produce favorable outcomes.

Adheres to commitments, schedules and deadlines.

Team Player, demonstrates flexibility, adapts to changing priorities or situations.

Self-directed, proactive, positive attitude.

Effective communication skills (written and verbal); collaborative and works well with others to accomplish tasks.

Teachable, willing to learn and grow

Capable of handling stress and multi-tasking.

Additional Requirements:

Make minor, non-technical repairs to the building and equipment, replace light bulbs

Maintain task and cleaning logs and turn in to supervisor daily.

This position does include weekends.

Ability to move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift up to 75 pounds.

Complete other duties as directed by Senior Pastor, Executive Pastor, or any other supervisor

Maintain a clean professional appearance and attitude

Possess a servant's heart

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
